Save Money by Separating Your Waste
Mixed waste goes to a general waste facility at the highest disposal rate. If you separate certain materials into clean streams, we can take them to specialist facilities — and pass the saving on to you.
How much could you save?
Savings vary depending on the mix and volume of materials, but separating heavy items like rubble, wood, or plasterboard can reduce the overall job cost by 20–50% compared to a fully mixed load. We'll always tell you upfront where separation will make a difference.
Wood / Timber
- Remove nails and fixings where possible
- Keep separate from chipboard/MDF if you can
- Includes fence panels, pallets, timber offcuts, furniture frames
Metal
- Any clean metal — shelving, pipes, railings, appliance bodies
- Remove from mixed loads and keep together
- Scrap metal often free or low-cost to dispose of
Rubble & Hardcore
- Bricks, concrete, stones, sand
- Keep completely dry and separate from soil where possible
- No plasterboard mixed in — that adds cost
Green / Garden Waste
- Grass, leaves, hedge cuttings, branches
- Keep away from soil and rubble
- Bagged or loose accepted
Cardboard
- Flatten boxes to save space
- Keep dry — wet cardboard is harder to recycle
- Remove tape and packing materials where practical
Plasterboard
- Must be kept separate — special disposal required
- Even small amounts mixed in affect disposal costs
- Gyproc and similar board included
